Is PDFMagic really private?
Yes. Your documents are processed entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to a server, there's no account, and there are no analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Every tool available today — merge, split, compress, sign, scan, OCR, redact, translate and AI summaries — runs locally on your device, even in airplane mode. (If we add cloud-only conversions like Office → PDF in the future, they'll be clearly labelled before they ship.)
Is it free?
Yes. Every on-device tool, including the AI features, is free to use with no daily limit. Premium is an optional upgrade that adds cloud storage, document templates, additional conversions, and removes ads.
How does the AI summarizer work?
It uses Apple Intelligence on your device to read a PDF and produce a short summary with key points. Because it runs locally, your document text never leaves your phone. AI features require a recent iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.
How do I scan a document?
Open the Scanner tab and tap Start scanning. Position the page in the frame — edge detection keeps it crisp — and PDFMagic saves the result as a PDF in your library.
What does "true redaction" mean?
When you redact, PDFMagic permanently removes the underlying text and content from the page — not just covering it with a black box. Always confirm the result before sharing a redacted file.
How do I manage or cancel Premium?
Premium is billed by Apple. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
